Since the 1st of January of 2021 our courier partner, DHL introduced a temporary surcharge on routes to and from the UK Mainland.

Please note that no Brexit surcharge will be applied to goods moving between Northern Ireland and the EU, based on the current customs arrangements the UK has made with the EU, however, should this customs arrangement change, this may be changed.Flag of Europe - Wikipedia

This is primarily due to new customs checks and paperwork required to ship all items on these routes.

My Baggage has thus far absorbed all costs associated with this surcharge to keep costs low for our customers however we must now pass this onto our customers at cost price - we do not profit from these surcharges. This surcharge was activated on My Baggage on the 12th of September 2021.

This surcharge is priced at £0.30 per KG (actual or volumetric) with a minimum charge amount of £4.50 per shipment.

Below are some examples of how much you may be charged for Brexit fee only:

Box Size Volumetric Weight Actual Weight Surcharge Amount
40x40x40CM 13KG 15KG £4.50
40x40x40CM 13KG 20KG £6.00
50x50x50CM 25KG 30KG £9.00
60x50x50CM 30KG 32KG £9.60

This price will be converted into the currency you have chosen if not booking in GBP.

The above surcharges are in addition to the transit costs quoted at booking as well as any remote area, oversized or overweight charges.

This surcharge is not a replacement for customs charges which may still be required by your destination country's customs authority. You can read more about customs here.

Important: From July 2022 there will be a temporary Fuel Surcharge of 12% or 0.10p per kg on the base price of each shipment due to the increased fuel costs. This will be reassessed each month and removed when no longer required. This gives an effective total surcharge of £0.40 per kg from May 2022.
